What started of an intimate celebration of Mikhail’s milestone birthday, soon blossomed into an international grand affair! Mikhail has been conducting business in USA and abroad and has made many friends and gained many great partners through many years. Of course, everyone wanted to have a chance to say a few words and celebrate with the man of honor! Natalya, Mikhail’s wife, who asked our help to organize all the little details, wanted to incorporate Mikhail’s live’s journey around the globe - they immigrated as a family to USA from Krim Ukraine, and Mikhail’s business takes him to Kazakhstan several times a year. We decided to do lovely floral decor in various shades blues throughout all functional areas. We used a combination of prime flowers, with a touch of greens, and silver curly willow. We found most incredible blue roses from one of our growers that added a spectacular touch to the focal point and a photo zone backdrop at the cocktail hour and through the evening - our live/real floral wall. The welcome sign was written in 5 languages to honor the guests who spoke different languages and the welcome table featured two unique custom built centerpieces representing Ukraine and Kazakhstan - which were a great hit with all the gusts. We dropped the entire ballroom and brought in incredible lighting system for the reception part of the evening. We designed a custom monogram the white dance floor to go with the blue/silver/and white theme, we added hanging candles to our amazing centerpieces and tapered candles to the tables. When Natalya and Mikhail came in for the ballroom reveal - they gasped… :) The evening was incredible - singing, dancing, toasting… oh so many incredible unique toasts! There was a Dombra (a traditional Kazakh musical instrument) performance; performances by 2 professional singers, a Jewish bottle dancer, Mikhail was presented with traditional Kazakh outfit (fit for a king!!!) , Mikhail’s daughter’s prepared special heartwarming speeches, and together with their mother, Natalya - presented a musical number… and many many more! The cherry on the cake was… well the cake itself of course! It was also designed by us and executed by a talented local SF chef - three layers - each representing some part of Mikhail’s life - bottom - was a Kazakh style pillow in blues and silver (also Kazakh colors) - middle was the depiction of Ukrainian seascape in Krim, and the top represented San Francisco - the area Mikhail and his family now calls home. The next day Natalya and Mikhail hosted a brunch for their out of towners and our lovely flowers made yet another appearance. But was was even more incredible, is the Yurt - a traditional Kazakh ancient dwelling of nomadic tribes, which is easy to collect and transport and to rebuild again within hours. White it might have been “easy” to pickup and rebuild back in the days, Yurt has been evolving over centuries adding many intrigued details, each with deep meaning, and special placement. Mikhail was deeply moved by receiving this gift from hist Kazakh partners and the Yurt has found its permanent placement in his home. We wish Mikhail many years of heath and happiness with his lovely wife Natalya and his amazing family by their side! Mazel Tov! |
